Overview
St. Kilian’s Secondary School is recognised by the Irish Department of Education and Skills and follows the prescribed curricula for the Junior and Leaving Certificate. The school is also funded by the German Government and is therefore in a unique position in Ireland regarding the teaching and learning of German.
St. Kilian’s offers extended German tuition which prepares students not just for the Junior or Leaving Certificates, but for the German Sprachdiplom exams at levels I and II. These exams provide them with the language entry requirement to study at a German University. They also ensure that our students leave St. Kilian’s with a language proficiency level in German which is significantly above what is needed for the Leaving Certificate.
Ambitious students have the opportunity to follow the German Curricular Stream in addition to the Irish curriculum. The Eurocampus is a joint project between St. Kilian’s and the Lycée Français d’Irlande (LFI). We share our campus here in Clonskeagh and students of both schools share lessons in the joint Junior Cycle.

This fantastic performance at St. Kilian’s Deutsche Schule in recent years reflects the efforts and professional guidance of our teaching staff, the determination and hard work of our students, and the dedicated support of their parents/guardians, This trend also led to St. Kilian’s past pupils being awarded eight UCD Entrance Scholarships and two Trinity College Entrance Exhibition Awards as a result of their high performance in their Leaving Certificate (2022). Our School also recorded an average of 90%-100% progression rate to Third Level Education over the last three years.
