Match Report

Our junior boys gave us a very exciting game against a strong Columba’s team on 21st November.

We started well and our front three Robin, Hugo and Tristan Molphy had the Columba’s rear guard under pressure. In midfield Daniel Barker had a great battle with a tricky Columba’s centre mid. At the back our back four, Tom Simms, Traloch Butler, Andrew Wyatt and Arthur Simms were solid and goalkeeper Dermot Gleeson was superb.

With a full squad we were able to rotate players. Our three Minors Ben McTiernan, Jake Nourse and Michael Brennan were not out of place at this level. Hugo Heisterkamp had a stormer and scored for us and could easily have had a hat trick but for the Columba’s keeper taking off two brill saves to deny Hugo. With seven minutes to go Hugo won a penalty. The game was 1-1. Louis Murphy stepped up and hit the post. At the end of the game our keeper Dermot Gleeson made a couple of fantastic saves to deny Columba’s a winner. All square it ended.
