At St. Kilian’s we celebrate the first school day for 1st class pupils with a lovely German tradition: children bring in a giant, beautifully decorated cardboard cone, called Schultüte, that is filled with presents and treats to mark the beginning of the children’s time in school.
After their initial induction with their class teachers, the pupils all headed down to the foyer with their parents to the First Class Picnic, an event kindly organised each year by our Parents’ Association to enable 1st class pupils and parents to get to know each other in an informal setting.
Almost 50 children started in 1st class this year and we wish them the best of luck for their time here in St. Kilian’s.
