On 3rd April, 30 pupils from the Primary School participated in the annual AIJS (Association of Independent Junior Schools) Primary Athletics Meet. Boys and girls from 4th, 5th and 6th class took parts in the events which were 50m, 100m, 150m and 200m sprints, a 400m run, the high jump and long jump and the Shot Put. The event finished with relays for each category.
St Kilian’s won gold for the first time at this competition! Both Bendix Zuran and Rylan Koslov won gold in the long jump and high jump respectively. Tom Clarke, Andrea Arellano Baeza and Leon Ryan won silver in the 50m sprints. Clara Caterina Mayer and Riley Bocus won silver in the 100m sprints and Felix Zimmermann came 2nd in the Shot Put. Many other students narrowly missed out with 4th place finishes. Our boys’ team came 3rd overall in the team competition which was a great achievement. Well done to all involved, it was a great day of Athletics and the pupils did St Kilian’s proud!
