On Tuesday June 14th 2022 our annual mini-marathon took place for St Kilian’s Primary school and Kindergarten. The Kindergarten and the Vorschule pupils completed one lap of the hockey pitch, often joined by their Class teachers and cheered on by their classmates and 6th Class students. Students from 1st to 6th Class tested their endurance by running two laps of the hockey pitch. Each and every student gave their best effort and were given generous encouragement from their fellow classmates running with them, their schoolmates cheering from outside the hockey pitch and the teachers. The theme for this year was Colours That Make You Smile allowing the children to wear any colour that made them smile.
After such a tiring morning of pushing themselves the students (and teachers!) were then rewarded with the opportunity to get an ice cream from an ice cream van ordered by the school. It was a cheerful, tiring and tasty morning for all in Kilian’s, expertly organised as always by Ms. Collins.
The Mini Marathon initiative is an annual fun run for charity and this year we raised funds for the Irish Red Cross/Ukraine. All funds from the run and the ice cream went towards the charity. Thank you to all parents and staff for your donations.
