Last week we welcomed a group of 7 students from the Friedrich Spee Gesamtschule Paderborn who visited St. Kilian’s over three days together with their teachers. The Friedrich Spee Gesamtschule was the coordinating school in the Erasmus Plus project St. Kilian’s participated in over the last 3 years together with schools in Spain and Estonia. As part of their visit to Dublin the students from Paderborn have prepared projects on the topic of ‘Sport and History’ and presented the findings during a double German period to Year 11 classes. They also got to enjoy some Irish music and traditions presented by the Music and Irish department and to practice their GAA skills during an introduction to Gaelic Sports session organised by the PE department. On their last day, the students from Paderborn, together with their teachers and a small group from with 11 Year students and some teachers from St. Kilian’s visiting Glendalough, Co. Wicklow. Thanks to Herr Sundermann for organising and coordinating the visit and to everyone involved.
