Each year St. Kilian’s takes part in the Christmas Shoebox Appeal in support of Team Hope Ireland, a child-focused international development organisation helping vulnerable children oversees. Everyone who wishes to participate can donate a shoebox packed with WASH items (e.g. toothbrush), WRITE items (e.g. colouring pencils), WEAR items (e.g. gloves) and WOW items (e.g. small gifts/sweets). To help affray the costs associated with transporting the shoeboxes to the many vulnerable children overseas you are asked to make a donation of €5 (either in the box or online). Please leave your wrapped shoebox in the Assembly Area in Primary School or on the dedicated table by the Secretary’s Office /reception in Secondary School. The closing date is Friday, November 15th after which TEAM HOPE will collect the boxes. This is one of our big charity events in the year and we are hoping for the same enthusiastic response this year. Thank you for your support and to the student council in Primary School and the Charity Club in Secondary School for organising. Every box makes a difference to a child affected by poverty.
