The Irish Schools team defeated their New Zealand counterparts 2-1 yesterday. St Kilian’s student, Nika Arevadze, played a key role in the victory. His strong run from midfield in the first half resulted in him being fouled and led to Ireland scoring their opening goal from that free kick. Nika went close to doubling the score shortly afterwards when his headed goal bound effort was spectacularly tipped over by the New Zealand keeper.
