On the occasion of German Unity Day we were delighted to welcome German Ambassador Deike Potzel to St. Kilian’s on 3rd October 2018. She talked to senior students about opportunities for German speakers in Ireland, Germany and elsewhere in Europe.
Frau Potzel was then treated to a performance by Primary pupils: 6th class had created posters about the fall of the Berlin wall and recited a poem on this topic. The 3DM group sang “Dies Land ist mein Land”. After the performance, the Ambassador joined our Primary School choir at their weekly choir practice and sang the German national anthem with them.
A wonderful way to celebrate this special day in German history.
