Our Minor boys had a stunning 5-1 win in the Minor B final against Wesley B. From the start Ben McTiernan was on fire and soon scored the goal of the game when he went on a run across the circle and smashed a rocket of a shot into the netting to put St. Kilian’s 1-0 up. It was end to end until half time.

Early in the second half Wesley scored to level the game at 1-1.  After 10 minutes St. Kilian’s lifted their game and put some lovely moves together. Ben McTiernan made a mazy run smashed in a ball and Cai Bocus was on hand to deflect into the goal to put us 2-1 up. St. Kilian’s were on top and Cian Walley scored a cracker to put us 3-1 ahead.  We won a short corner and Michael Brennan smashed home a missile of a shot from the top of the circle to put us 4-1 up with five minutes to go. Big Ben struck for the fifth when he scored from a reverse sweep to seal the game at 5-1. It was a stunning last 15 minutes from the boys. It was a great finish to a great season. Well one boys.

They won the under 13 B league last year. This year they made the cup final losing narrowly 2-1 to St. Andrew’s. They represented the school in the all-Ireland Waring cup winning one, drawing three and losing one.

They are a joy to coach. They never miss training. Captain Jake Nourse and Vice-Captain Mark Donovan take the warm up and the team put in a huge effort in training, always looking for ways to improve. Hopefully next year they can go for a third league win in a row!
