Spielbericht
Come Back Kids Pipped At the PostWhat a thrilling game our senior boys gave us in St. Columba’s College.
From the start Columba’s had us under severe pressure. We went 2-0 down and it could have been more. Captain Shomik Chakraborty showed his full range of goalkeeping skills to keep the score down. He made some world class saves to deny Columba’s and keep the score at 2-0 at half time.
We reorganised our press and marking and it was St. Kilian’s who started the second half in a positive mood winning lots of hit outs and attacking St. Columba’s. Up front Hugo Heisterkamp and Sasha Kuechenmeister were cooking up great hockey and chances. After one stunning counter attack Hugo finished to bring the game to 2-1. Two minutes later it was 2-2 when Sasha scored a cracker to level the game. Our back four led by Tom Simms were working hard to contain Columba’s. In midfield Alex henry and Sam Staunton worked their socks off.
Just when it looked like we were going to get a draw, St. Columba’s won a short corner and scored what was to be the winner. It was a great effort by the boys who never gave up. Captain Shomik Chakraborty was outstanding and showed why he made Leinster with an array of exceptional saves during the game.
Hard Luck Boys!
