Dear Parents,
Our project “Santa Clothes” is back this year. Last year, we managed to gather 62 stones of clothes. This year, we want to do even better!
Our week of collection will take place between 26th and 30th November. Once again, the idea will be to collect the heaviest weigh of clothes possible for the Dublin Simon Community.
This charity is dedicated to ending homelessness. Every night of the year they have a “Soup Run” offering soup, sandwiches, tea and a good chat for all the homeless around the city. Those people receive help in regards to health, accommodation, education but above all, moral support which is so important to bear their loneliness.
For additional information, please check their website: http://www.dubsimon.ie
In Civic Education class, the Transition Year, Fifth Year and Sixth Year students of the LFI will design posters encouraging people to donate. The best posters will be displayed in the school foyer. You will be able to vote for your favourite poster simply by putting your clothes in the box below it. At the end of every day, the weigh collected by each poster will be updated on each collection box and the overall weigh will be updated on signs in the school and on the school website. Also, a cake sale will be organised by the French students on Friday 30th. Here again, the idea will be to collect clothes so one item = 1 piece of cake!
So, it is time for you to tidy your wardrobes and get rid of what you do not need as someone else may need these.
Please note that Dublin Simon Community Christmas cards will also be for sale in the school throughout the week.
Simon said: ‘For Christmas, let us bring them some warmth!’
We count on you.
Yours Sincerely,
Marta, Kesia and Rodrigue
Terminale students.
The Project is supported by the Eurocampus.
