On 22nd April, the eight class students visited the exhibition “Fairy Tale Worlds” at the Goethe-Institute Dublin.
The exhibition celebrating the anniversary of 200 years since the publication of the Grimm Fairy Tales is taking place from 11th to 26th April. Today “Children’s and Household Tales” is one of the most popular books of German cultural history next to the Luther Bible. They have been translated into 160 languages and in 2005 they were included in the UNESCO Memory of the World.
In addition to interactive exhibits, the collection contains extensive information on the brothers Wilhelm and Jacob Grimm, who collected fairy tales not only in Germany but also in Ireland and beyond. They also wrote a German dictionary.
The students were accompanied by Ms Adelsberger, Ms Reinhofer, Ms Klapp and Ms O’Donoghue.
