Congratulations! On Wedesday 27th of February, St. Kilian’s German Debating Team met Coolmine Community School in the quarter finals of The Goethe Institute German Debating Competition to debate the motion “Every Irish student should learn at least two foreign languages”. The team was contra. Team members were Ena Lochrin, Stacey Aleshko, Alexandra Gonzalez and Ciara Mullarkey. The girls performed and argued excellently and ended up successfully beating the Coolmine team. They are now in the Semi Finals. Many thanks to the teachers who generously gave of their time to prepare them for the debate: Coach Fiona Maher, Co-coach Stephanie Klapp, and the Higher Diploma of Education student Ms Sarah O‘ Donohoe.
