St. Kilian’s Green School Committee are continuing their great work from last year. They are now in the process of renewing our first green flag, which was all about waste and recycling. The renewal date is approaching, so the Primary Green School are busy organising some recycling campaigns.
The first is a battery collection campaign. There are blue boxes around the assembly area where, you can deposit old batteries. These will be collected by WEEE, when we have filled 10 boxes.
They are also organising a mobile phone recycling campaign for the Jack and Jill Foundation. This foundation helps families with children with developmental needs. To provide an incentive for both primary and secondary school children, we are holding a cake sale on Friday 1st March, but it is a cake sale with a twist! No money will be accepted, instead students can swap old mobile phones for cakes. So start collecting now! Ask friends, neighbours and family members, for old mobile phones. Help us do a little bit for the environment!
