On 22nd October our science teachers Fiona Martin and Nigel MacMillan took the 12th Class Chemistry & Physics students to the CERN mobile exhibition in UCD for a guided tour. A physics PhD student who was just back from CERN gave them an excellent tour of the exhibition.
The European Organization for Nuclear Research, known as CERN, is an international organization whose purpose is to operate the world’s largest particle physics laboratory. Established in 1954, the organization is based in the northwest suburbs of Geneva on the Franco–Swiss border, and has 20 European member states.
