Our under boys 13 team came close to pulling of a win over St. Andrews on Friday. From the start our midfield Ethan, Hugo and Louis drove the team forward. Up front Daniel, Tristan and Denis were sniffing out chances. After 7 minutes we scored when Daniel swept home after some fine play. Andrews came back and levelled at 1-1. We again took the lead when Ethan scored to go 2-1 up. Right on half time St. Andrews won a corner and drilled home to bring the game level again at 2-2.
The second half was end to end. Our keeper Marvin made some great saves and Eoghan O’Connor was brill at sweeper. He was ably assisted by Tom, Andrew and Michael. We had two great chances near the end and narrowly missed scoring. This was a terrific game played in the rain and our boys gave their all. Well Done boys!!
Final score 2-2. Man of the match: Eoghan O’Connor who was brilliant at sweeper. Just pipping, Ethan, Hugo and Louis. Goal of the match: Ethan Levins
