The Irish Sciences Olympiad (ISO) is an All-Ireland sciences competition for second level students that takes place annually on December 31st and is held in three locations: in DCU for students from the Republic of Ireland and in QUB and in UU for students from Northern Ireland. One All Ireland Computer Programming test is held in DCU for all Irish students. The participating students are nominated by their teachers. The top students in each competition represent Ireland at the annual International Olympiads in Biology (IBO), Chemistry (IChO), Physics (IPhO) and Informatics (IOI).
