St. Kilian’s Parent Information Evening: The Internet – Who is watching your child?

Dear Parents,

St Kilian’s Parents’ Association would like to invite you to the first Parent Information Evening of 2014: The Internet – Who is watching your child?

As parents’ of 5^th and 6^th class pupils and secondary school students are aware, Pat McKenna who is the founder of Childwatch, has been hosting a series of presentations in the school to make our children aware of their internet presence and the implications of their activities on the internet.

Based on the positive feedback on these presentations from teachers and students we are hosting an information evening aimed at parents.

Content of the Information Evening will focus on the following areas: 

– technology and inherent vulnerability
– trust
– images
– cyber bullying
– grooming
– social networking
– crimes against children – from the real world to the internet and back
– suggestions on what to do

We look forward to seeing as many of you who can make it to what will be a very informative and interesting evening.
