Our German Transition Year students have been selected by the leading German newspaper “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” to participate in the writing competition “FAZ Jugend schreibt” running from 31st of January 2015 until the 1st of February 2016.
The project is a cooperation between the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” and the IZOP- Institute (Institute for objectifying learning and examinations) in Aachen. The people in charge are Dr. Ursula Kals (FAZ) and Dr. Norbert Delhey (IZOP).
Our DM students will be competing with 2000 other students from Germany and German schools abroad in writing and publishing articles for the German FAZ newspaper. The articles are supposed to focus on current affairs and typical professions in the respective countries and are composed and researched according to the procedures of serious journalism.
We are delighted to announce that our students have already been successful:
On Monday, March 30 three articles written by St. Kilian’s students will be published in the Frankfurter Allgemeine on the page “Jugend schreibt”. Congratulations to Dr. Eva-Sophie Reinhofer, German teacher in St. Kilian’s, and her 10 DM class!
For their next projects they are always interested in original subjects. If you happen to have an extraordinary (or peculiar) neighbour or relative, or if you know someone pursuing an unusual profession or an occupation that does not exist in Germany, we invite you to get in contact with our young journalists and to share your story.
We will keep you updated!
