On Friday, the 30th January 2015, students from first to sixth year had a go at the first round of the All-Ireland Linguistics Olympiad. For two hours, they had to work on papers about puzzles in languages and writing systems they don’t know: this year it was Middle English, Japanese, Futhark and Greek. We wish them ‘good luck’ for the final in TCD where the hundred best of the country will battle it out!
