Juniors v KH
Kuechenmeister’s peach wins the day.
Our junior boys were playing KH for a place in the B league semi finals. The team led by Dan Raymond was on top for most of the first half. Unfortunately we left our shooting boots in the dugout and missed several good chances to score.
Half Time 0-0
Dan Raymond moved to centre midfield and Robbie O’Leary went right and immediately we were on top for most of the second half but again failed to score. With two minutes left the boys laid siege to the KH circle and won a short corner with 10 seconds left on the clock. We failed to score but one a second and after the ball rebounded twice Sasha Kuechenmeister swept home to win the game for St. Kilian’s and put us in the B league semi final next Monday against St. Andrews B team. Well done boys!

Juniors v Newpark
Ailbhe gets a number 1 smash hit.
What a game this turned out to be with extra time and penalties. We were missing Nina Heisterkamp and Charlotte and called up first years Ella Doherty and Emma Donoghue to play up. It was end to end and eventually Newpark scored from a short corner to go 1-0 up.
Half Time St. Kilians 0 Newpark 1
In the second half we went long ball and Ella and Gretel were causing problems. Ailbhe and Emma Prehn were drilling balls up to our forwards and this allied to some great passing led to a short corner. Emma swept out to Ailbhe who absolutely smashed the perfect ball across the keeper for a sensational goal. Both sides went looking for the win and as nobody scored we went to extra time.
Despite our best we could not score and the game went to penalties.
Emma Prehn stepped up and scored to put us 1-0 up.
Juliet Douet our keeper came out and saved.
Lia Schaffer had he penalty saved.
Then Newpark scored to level at 1-1.
Ailbhe O Connor stepped up and scored to put us 2-1 up.
Juliet again saved coming out and preventing a shot. Still 2-1 Kilian’s.
Aisling Burns stepped up and squeezed the ball home to put us 3-1 up.
Newpark had to score and Juliet once again saved and cleared to win the game for St. Kilian’s.
