We are very proud of our Junior Boys who won the title yesterday, 4th of March 2015 in a fantastic game (4:1) over Wesley in Newpark. It is a great achievement for our Junior boys having won the Junior B League for the first time.
The Junior B League win got also featured on The Hook Hockey blog.

What a thrilling final our junior boys gave us on Wednesday in Newpark.
The squad: In goals Alex Henry, right back Hugh Perette, sweeper Max Murphy, Centre back Frankie Witte and left back Nikolai Gladyshev. In midfield on the left Robbie O’Leary, centre mid. and Captain Dan Raymond and right mid. David Noone. Up front on the right Sasha Kuechenmeister, centre forward Cillian Bourke and left wing Conor McCrea. On the bench: Tim Kelly Lester, Patrick Junghenn, Sam Staunton, Cathal Kelly, Khaled Alsyegh.
From the start we were winning ball with our press and breaking away. After seven minutes from one break by David Noone, who has amazing pace we scored a cracker. David broke away turned on his reverse and swept a ball in and quick as a flash Sasha Kuechenmeister (should be Goalmeister) nipped in front of his marker to sweep home and put us 1-0 up. After 10 minutes Wesley won a corner which we defended and cleared. After 15 minutes we scored an amazing goal when Dan Raymond spotted Sasha close in and drilled in a shot and Sasha deflected over the keeper for a stunning goal to put us 2-0 up.
Back came Wesley who won a penalty stroke. Alex Henry showed his Leinster credentials with a brilliant save to deny Wesley and keep the score at 2-0. Patrick came on at left back, Sam at centre forward and Cathal Kelly at left wing. Wesley piled on the pressure and had several short corners. Our running and line clearances were brill and Alex made a number of post saves to deny Wesley.

The second half started at a ferocious pace with St. Kilians looking for a third and Wesley pressing for that elusive first goal. It was St. Kilians who struck first. After 5 minutes we won a short corner. Cillian smashed in and Conor Mc Crea pounced on the rebound to put St. Kilians 3-0 up. Wesley again poured forward and got their reward after 17 minutes when they scored to bring the game to 3-1. Dan Raymond started to throw delicious aerial balls and these were causing problems for the Wesley back four.
It was end to end and our boys were defending like tigers. Wesley were pouring forward and we were winning ball and hitting them with pace on the break. From one such break we won a short corner .
This time Max smashed in and David Noone stretched out to poke the rebound in to put us 4-1 up and seal the win for St. Kilians.

This is our first junior B win and well deserved. Well Done Boys!!

Man of the Match: A really tough call so we have decided that Alex Henry our Leinster keeper who was outstanding in goals and Sasha Kuechenmeister who was not well on the day, yet scored two unbelievable goals share the Man of the Match award. Just pipping Captain Dan Raymond.
Goal of the Match: Sasha Kuechenmeister’s second when he dinked the ball over the keeper. Cool Finish. Contender for goal of the season.
