Michael Leahy, our former student who captained our boys’ senior soccer team to All-Ireland success, made history for our school by being our first student to be involved in the Europa/Champions League. He currently plays
for UCD in the Airtricity National League and after defeating Dudelange F91 of Luxemburg, they were beaten by Slovan Bratislava of Slovakia. Michael was one of the more experienced players in the UCD team, which contained two players who had just completed the Leaving Certificate and one in 5th year, compared to the Slovan Bratislava team’s eight internationals!
