Congratulations to Transition Year students on their participation in the BPW (Business and Professional Women) Public Speaking Competition.
Our team of Katie Clissmann, Anna Offergeld and Sophia Tcherkova were declared the best team of the night in the Dublin final of the competition. They brought home the trophy once again continuing previous years’ success in the competition. This is the fourth year St Kilian’s has reached the final of the All-Ireland Competition. Katie also received the award for best Chairman and Anna for best speech delivered on the night on the topic of the Importance of a Political Education. Colleen Well’s speech on the Value of History was commended for its originality and structure – and in demand by many in the audience, especially by History teachers. She was ably supported by teammates, Joanna Harnett and Meadhbh Connolly who introduced the History Society of St. Kilian’s to the audience.
The National Final will be held in Tullamore on the 21st November. We wish them every success!
