On Thursday 21st and Friday 22nd January 2016 St. Kilian’s German School Dublin hosted this year’s KiMu competition and the 1st round (regional competition) of JuMu. Each musician was asked to play/sing in front of a professional jury and they were assessed according to their age group. We are delighted to announce that a considerable number of our students have received first prize and thus qualified for the 2nd round in Helsinki in March 2016.

“Jugend Musiziert (JuMu)” is a competition for young musicians organised by the Deutscher Musikrat in Munich, Germany. It is the biggest musical competition that motivates thousands of young non-professional musicians to achieve extraordinary standards in music. Organised over three rounds it allows students to compete in a number of categories from classical to pop and pitch their talent against that of students from various schools in Germany. Besides the competition itself young people are given the opportunity to meet and to interact with other young people and master new challenges.
More information on Jugend Musiziert is available here and on their official website.
