As is the tradition here at St. Kilian’s – and indeed in every German school – all children who start in 1st class arrived at the school with their Schultüte, a giant, beautifully decorated cardboard cone that is filled with presents and treats to make the first day of school a little bit sweeter. Sarah Finnegan, Head of the Primary School, spoke some reassuring words to parents and children before the little ones were led to their classrooms for their first couple of hours in 1st class with their teachers Ms. Black and Ms. Barry.
Afterwards all parents of 1st class children were invited to the “First Class Picnic”, an event organised each year by the Parent Association.
