During the week 6th – 10th February 2017, St. Kilian’s Primary School celebrated Anti Bullying Week. As an important part of bullying, we were looking at cyber bullying and the general safe use of the internet and the whole school took part in the EU-wide initiative of Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 7th February.
All the classes in Primary School took part in some activities related to bullying throughout the week. Ms Black organised an assembly for 1st class during which the children took a pledge against bullying with their handprints; older classes did a quiz on bullying-related topics and were given a great demonstration about the dangers of sharing personal information online. Frau Davitt wrote an anti-bullying song for Class 4a to a popular tune (see below).
Overall, a very active and productive week.
Anti Bullying Song
by Frau Davitt
This school is your school.
This school is my school.
We don’t want bullies,
We want to be cool.
We build on kindness,
friendship and empathy.
This school is made for me and you.
We work together,
as a really good team,
look out for others,
try not to be mean.
We are all different,
with different talents.
This school is made for me and you.
So what’s the moral,
of our story?
we do need fairness,
not our own glory.
We use our senses,
to show respect to all.
This school is made for me and you.
