The 11th class Concern Debating team won their 4th debate on 24th January 2017 against Loreto College on the Green.
Our students, Sophie Linnane, Lia Taylor- Schaffer, Meadhbh Connolly and Ciara Connolly, supported by fellow students, Coleen Wells, Joanna Harnett and Katie Clissmann successfully proposed the motion that International Agreements on climate change are a “load of hot air”. The adjudicators were impressed by the standard of debate and commended the St. Kilian’s team on their performance.
The debate was hosted by St. Kilian’s and chaired by Hugh Perrette and timed by Marcella Gonzalez, both quarter finalists of last year’s team in the Concern competition.
This was the last debate in the Concern League and we are hopeful that we will qualify for the final knock-out rounds of the competition!
