A group of our 11th and 12th class travelled to Brussels on 20th September 2018 to attend the 4th Europaspiele sports competition of German Schools Abroad. Almost 100 young athletes from the German Schools in Brussels, Paris, Toulouse, Geneva, Warsaw, Moscow, Prague and Dublin attended this great weekend. The event was a huge success both from a sporting point of view as well as from the encounter and interaction of young people in Europe. A big compliment and heartfelt thanks go to the iDSB for the fantastic organisation and hospitality.
Of the St. Kilian’s participants, Ella Doherty (11th class) took 2nd place in the long jump and our teams also achieved strong performances in athletics and team sports. Due to the very strong competition, unfortunately they could not make it into the upper part of the overall standings. The main thing, however, was the positive team spirit that was visible in all students involved and throughout all the competitions.
For the 4th time, the Internationale Deutsche Schule in Brussels hosted the Europaspiele competition, to which the German Schools of Region 9 are invited every second year.
