There was great excitement on 21st February as students from the Primary and Secondary School gathered in the Assembly hall to celebrate the achievement of receiving the 4th Green Flag for the school.
Teacher Herr Sundermann has been behind this project for many years and he is supported by Ms Dobey from the Primary school and Ms Holloway and Ms Brennan from the Secondary School and also Ms Thielemans and the Primary School Committee.
As part of the Green School committee students from Class 7, Eoin Jones, Madeline Andrews, Conor Clarke, Liam Ongara, Shervin Sedaghat and Vidyarthi Sethurman and students from Year 8, Roisin Walley, Amelia Hauer and Fainne Cummins Weiss were on stage today to give demonstrations with the help of posters and drama on how best to continue to make the school and the environment a better place for all.
Their next project will be centred around Biodiversity and how best to create an awareness of biodiversity not only in our school, but also they will highlight other areas such as Marine life and Boglands.
The meeting finished with words of praise for the students and their teachers from Deputy Principal, Mr Drechsler. Then the students with the help of Ms Thielemans broke into song with a rendering of Die Blätter der Palme. A fun time was had by all.
