This annual event and one of the highlights on the St. Kilian’s school calendar took place last Thursday and Friday. We saw a record number of Primary School children take part in the Kinder musizieren competition and some outstanding talent was shown by the students of Secondary School in the Jugend musiziert competition.
At the prize giving concert on the evening of 19th January, which was ably presented by Ciara and Meadhbh Connolly (12th class), we were able to enjoy some of the best musicians from both competitions: this included instrumental as well as singing and drama performances.
The German Embassy kindly sponsors this event every year and we were delighted that Frau Lück and Herr Veit were able to join us for the price giving concert. A very enjoyable evening was had by everyone and our Principal Alice Lynch praised the courage and talent of our students and thanked Ms Thielemans and Ms Brennan who organised the entire competition and concert. Ms Lynch awarded the Jumu Perpetual Trophy to Leah Fellenz who has been successfully taking part in the competition for a number of years and the Principal referred to her as “the voice of St. Kilian’s”.
More information on Jumu and Kimu is available here.
