The first week of October was SMILE week at St. Kilian’s. The Primary School was fundraising all week through various activities such as face painting during break times, bucket collections and a cake sale.
The school community did a fantastic job and we were able to raise €1,170 over the course of the week.
€720 of this was donated to Operation Smile (hence SMILE week!), a charity that brings safe, sustainable treatment to children with cleft lips and palates around the world. This amount will help three children to receive treatment.
The remainder of €450 was donated to Medecins Sans Frontieres to help with their work in Indonesia.
