On Saturday 20th October, 37 students met at St Kilian’s for an early departure to Manchester, accompanied by five staff members. After a calm sailing and drive across North Wales, the group arrived to the Etihad stadium to attend the Premiership game involving Manchester City and Burnley. The game was highly entertaining, with the hosts winning 5-0.
The group had a quick visit to the Manchester City club shop, with a variety of purchases made. Then, it was onward to the Trafford Centre before reaching our hotel base. The following morning, the group made another early start with Old Trafford as the destination. The students and staff were given the guided tour of the stadium by two very helpful and informative guides, Karl and Bill. The students then visited the club museum and shop before boarding the coach to make the journey to Holyhead for the return sailing. Again, crossing conditions were excellent and the group arrived back to the school gates at teatime on Sunday evening.
