Some of our students were invited to the German Embassy’s celebration of German Unity Day. Well done to our Secondary School students Leah Fellenz, Ruby O’Connor, Nora Lawlor and Tristan Spellman Molphy who sang the Irish national anthem as well as the European Anthem.
Our Primary School choir – who had had a very busy week already, performing at our Sprachdiplomfeier and our school’s German Unity assembly – sang the German national anthem, as well as “Alt wie ein Baum” for hundreds of guests at this event which took place at the German Ambassador’s residence.
All three anthems were accompanied beautifully on the piano by Daniel Partridge (10th class).
A big thank you to all the performers and to Anne Thielemans who leads the choir and who did a fantastic job with the children to get their heads around some difficult German words in their songs!
