Secondary school Irish students are enjoying the weekly ‘Caifé Gaeilge’ which was initiated by Mr. O’Driscoll last year and is now officially called “Caifé Cócó”!
The café is open every Friday in N21 during the morning break. Students can come here to enjoy a tea, coffee, hot chocolate or pastry while speaking Irish with each other in a relaxed environment. The café promotes zero waste with students using recyclable paper cups or bringing their own cups.
All money collected in the café will be donated to the Peter McVerry trust at the end of term. Come join us to use your “cúpla focal”! This year sees the café open to all year groups and the addition of Flora Frankish, Jane Mulvihill & Maria Oreshkina to the café staff! Well done!
In Irish
Tá na daltaí óna ranganna Gaeilge sa mheánscoil ag baint taitnimh as an gCaifé Gaeilge. Is é ‘Caifé Cócó’ an t-ainm oifigiúil ar an gcaifé anois!
Tá an caifé ar oscailt gach Aoine i N21 le linn sosa ar maidin. Tagann daltaí anseo chun cupán tae, caife, seacláid the nó milseog a bheith acu agus Gaeilge a labhairt lena chéile i slí deas, nádúrtha. Cuireann an caifé athchúrsáil chun cinn mar tá na cupáin déanta as páipéar nó tógann na daltaí a gcupáin féin isteach.
Rachaidh an t-airgead a bhaileofar chuig Peter McVerry Trust ag deireadh na téarma. Bígí linn agus úsáid do chúpla focal. I mbliana, tá an caifé ar oscail do chuile dalta sa mheánscoil agus tá Flora Frankish, Jane Mulvihill & Maria Oreshkina ag obair sa fhoireann caifé anois! Maith sibh!
