A big thank you and well done to our Transition Year students Eva, Lara, Sophia and Katie who did a fantastic job representing our school at a recent event at the Convention Centre Dublin.
Under the guidance of their teachers Herr Magnus and Frau Niederprüm, the four students helped facilitate Christmas crafts workshops through German with groups of TY students from other Irish schools. These workshops formed part of a large-scale event organised by Languages Connect on 6th December 2019, which involved 3000 students from 55 schools from all around Ireland.
Eva, Lara, Sophia and Katie gave a small presentation about Christmas traditions in Germany, followed by decorating of gingerbread biscuits while chatting to the students in German. The workshop was held six times in total during the the whole day.
St. Kilian’s was delighted to be involved in this event which provided great experience for our students.
Languages Connect is an organisation that promotes awareness around the advantages of learning foreign languages.
