During the month of June, staff and pupils of St. Kilian’s and the LFI got involved in various activities to raise awareness and funds for the Gavin Glynn Foundation, a charity that supports families with children who suffer from cancer and need treatment abroad.
Well done to the team of St. Kilian’s and LFI staff and students who took part in the Women’s Mini Marathon in Dublin at the beginning of June to kick-start the fundraising efforts.
On 12th June the St. Kilian’s Primary School held their annual Mini Marathon on the school’s hockey pitch – thank you to all pupils and staff who took part in good spirits despite the dismal weather conditions on the day. A cake sale further increased our donations and completed the fundraising efforts.
Many thanks to all members of the school community who have donated either online, in person or through our recent cake sale and helped us raise a total of €3,217.39 for The Gavin Glynn Foundation. A wonderful effort for a wonderful cause. We proudly presented the cheque to John Glynn, Gavin’s father and founder of the charity, during our end-of-year assembly on Wednesday 19th June.
A big thank you goes to Valerie Egan in the LFI and Siobhan Collins in St. Kilian’s who drove this fantastic fundraising initiative that encompassed the entire Eurocampus school community.
