On 25th October 2019, thirty Secondary School students travelled to Manchester, an annual trip for soccer enthusiasts organised by our boys’ soccer coach Al Sugg.
“We travelled by coach and ferry to Holyhead and onwards to Manchester, arriving late in the evening. After an early breakfast, we took the short walk from our hotel in Salford Quays to Old Trafford, where we were given the Stadium tour of the home of Manchester Utd. After some purchases in the club shop, we made a quick getaway to make the early kick off at the Ethiad Stadium.
We made it in time and took our seats to watch Manchester City play Aston Villa. After an entertaining but scoreless first half, the goals arrived early in the second half. Manchester City hit the net three times, without reply to secure the deserved victory. Again, we had time to make purchases in the club shop before departing for the return ferry trip from Holyhead. We arrived with plenty of time to spare and made the short sea-crossing to arrive back to St Kilian’s at midnight on Saturday.”
