On Friday 17th January 2020 the Jugend musiziert 2020 (Jumu) competition took place in our school, the annual musical highlight of the school year which gives students the opportunity to showcase their talent and compete in the most renowned competition for young musicians in Germany.
The talent this year was outstanding and included piano, harp and recorder performances by our Secondary pupils, some of which qualified for the next round of Jumu which will take place in Warsaw in March.
Parents and friends of the school thoroughly enjoyed the prize-giving concert which took place on the evening of the competition day. The audience was able to enjoy not only performances by the Jumu participants but also by contestants of previous years and by some of the Primary children who took part in our Kinder musizieren competition the previous day.
A big thank you and well done to all contestants for their performance; to Noelle Brennan and Anne Thielemans for running the event and to Nora and Caspar who did a fantastic presenting; and to class 5B and the Primary School choir who also performed on the evening.
In her speech our Principal Alice Lynch also thanked the parents for supporting and encouraging their children in their musical pursuits, thus enriching the life for everyone in the St. Kilian’s school community.
