Mini PEXPO is an event that was held as part of our Sports Science module for Transition Year students this year. This involved students picking a topic related to any sport or how it was linked to society. The students were encouraged to choose something they were interested in and it resulted in a broad range of topics throughout the class. The students had worked very hard over four weeks and in the 5th week of the module they presented their projects to staff and some of our 12th class pupils.
The titles of the projects included:
- “The Perfect Athlete”: What body types are best suited to elite level sports.
- “From Player to Coach”: What benefit, if any, does being a player have on a coach’s ability.
- “What goes into an athlete”: What are the best foods/diet for elite level athletes.
- “The Power of Sport Inclusion & Culture”: How sport can impact racial and cultural issues in society.
The presentations were brilliant throughout and the students should be very proud of their hard work.
