The Green School committee of our Primary School might not be able to meet up in person this year, but it doesn’t mean that we have stopped our efforts!
Ongoing focus and initiatives
We are putting a renewed focus on recycling this year: In each class, we have been talking about what can go into the paper bin and what into the general waste bin. All the children in the Primary School know now that waste from their lunch boxes must go back home to be properly recycled (wash – dry – recycle!). We are also reminding everyone to waste less energy and switch off lights when leaving a classroom. Posters have been put into all classrooms.
Green School Champions
Each class in Primary School has Green School Champions who help to improve our “green behaviour”.
School Garden
Every Monday afternoon, 3rd class children who use our Afternoon Care facility have been working in our school garden with great enthusiasm. They enjoy weeding, planting and watering the plants. As the winter approaches, they will very soon be looking after the birds.
