Sparked by the popular Jerusalema Dance Challenge, St. Kilian’s has decided to create our very own dance to foster community spirit during lockdown and to mark St. Patrick’s Day 2021!
The Dance
We have put together our very own St. Kilian’s dance moves which we would like our students to learn and then send in their dance videos. All the individual clips will then be compiled and published on St. Patrick’s Day and we will “challenge” the other schools in our network to respond with their own videos.
Song Choice: Dreams, The Cranberries, available here.
Theme: To celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, pupils are encouraged to wear something green and/or St. Patrick’s Day accessories i.e., hats, scarfs, badges etc.
This is a whole-school effort for our Secondary & Primary Schools, as well as our Kindergarten and our Eurocampus partners from the LFI. Pupils and staff are welcome and encouraged to participate!
The Dance Tutorial
The tutorial is broken into 5 short dance moves and demonstrated by Secondary School students in a video available on the school’s YouTube channel. Pupils can opt to learn all 5 moves or just choose one or two and keep repeating those. Freestyle is also encouraged – the main aim is to have fun and the end product should also help to build a sense of community and excitement! Click picture below for a dance demonstration, followed by a tutorial video.
How to send in your dance video?
The videos have to be submitted through TEAMS. Students who want to send in a video need to fill in this form and will then be added to a TEAM where they can upload their video. (Kindergarten parents: please email us for instructions instead.)
Deadline for students to submit their video: Tuesday 9th March
Any queries about the challenge can be directed to marketing@kilians.com (by email or through TEAMS).
The finished video will be published on St. Patrick’s Day – so GET DANCING!
