Our Secondary school students have been involved in various activities over the last week celebrating national Stand Up Awareness Week and supporting LGBTI+ young people in schools and in Ireland with positive messages and kindness. To mark the occasion we have been flying the LGBTI+ flag at the main gates for the entire week, our students have decorated the school in rainbow colours, we had a freebie give away and a photo booth session involving all students and a fundraiser to support the work of BeLonGTo. Besides that were running a ‘decorate your classroom door competition – Choose words that heal, not hurt’ with a prize for the winning class and have started the initiative of a LGBTI+ lunchtime club. It has been a colourful and wonderful week. Thank you to Ms Sherriff and Ms O’Donohoe for organising and well done to all involved!
