February 8th, 2022 is Safer Internet Day 2022 and our children in Primary School are celebrating this day with different activities around internet safety and cyber bullying. Our older students prepared presentations for our younger students which is a highly effective way of getting a message across as younger children are motivated to learn form older fellow students. And our 5th Class students even had a short play ready using beautifully designed posters to demonstrate the dangers of the internet. The play was followed by a great discussion about how to stay safe online, what cyber bullying means and what effects it can have and most importantly what to do once one is not feeling safe on the Internet. The children were eagerly sharing their knowledge with each other and their teachers, everyone had a lot to say and to ask. The children also talked about the rules of the internet and created smart and colourful posters around the theme ‘Stop!Think!Check!’ as part of the Safer Internet Day 2022 Poster Competition. The closing date for the competition is Monday, February 28th and the winners will be announced that week. Best of luck to all and thank you to Mrs Hurtubise Doyle for organising this year’s Safer Internet Day programm.
