St. Kilian’s Senior girl’s vs Sutton Park
The senior girls hosted Sutton Park school for their first league game of the season. Both teams started off well creating good scoring opportunities, but both defences did well to keep the game at zero all in the opening stages. In the second half Kilians opened the deadlock going one goal up. Sutton pushed hard to get an equalising goal, but the girls determination ensured that the game ended at 1-0 earning them a hard-fought win at home.
St. Kilian’s Senior boys
The senior boys have had a tough start to the league playing against two very good teams in St. Andrew’s and St. Columba’s college. In both the games the senior boys’ team have shown promising signs that they can be a very good team as the season progresses. The game against St. Columba’s College ended 8-0 loss, the game against St. Andrew’s College also ended 8-0 loss. They ended this term with a match against High school and they were unfortunate to lose the match 1-0.
St. Kilian’s Minor boys
The minor boys are a promising group who have won most of their games they have played this year. Their first league match was against St. Columba’s College, the weather made the match very difficult. The boys played well regardless and secured a 2-1 victory away from home. They then took on the hockey giants that are St. Andrew’s College, this was a very exciting game with two quality teams going hard at each other. The game ended 3-0 to Andrew’s, the minor boys really played well but failed to take their chances. Andrews on the other hand were very clinic. The boys ended this terms games with two wins over High school 4-1 and East Glendalough winning 4-2.
St. Kilian’s Junior boys
The junior boys were hosted by St. Columba’s College for their first league match, they started the game slow conceding two early goals which would make the outing a very difficult one. They grew into the game but on the day St. Columba’s were just better securing a 5-0 victory. They then hosted a very good St. Andrews side, the boys were up for the game, and it showed in their performance. Andrews had to work very hard for their goals. The game ended 5-0 to St. Andrew’s college. The boys ended their games for this term with a 3-1 win over East Glendalough.
St. Kilian’s Minor girls
The minor girls had their first league game against Holy Faith Clontarf away from home. The first half was tightly contested, with both teams scoring goals ending the half one all drew. The second half was tough on the girls with Holy Faith having a great half scoring three goals with the game ending 4-1. The girls gave it everything but sadly came short.
