The St. Kilian’s Green School Committee are talking with Chris from Precious Plastic Dublin and are planning to visit the Sustainability Hub at the end of January when it is up and running in UCD. The whole school have also been busy collecting bottle caps to recycle into new products and the Green School Committee have created some designs that they are hoping will be seen turned into reality by Chris and his team using recycled plastic in the coming months. In the meantime, Chris has kindly offered to make us some prizes for our ‘Guess the number of bottle caps’ competition at our Green School stall at the Christmas bazaar, this coming Saturday, 30th of November 2024. A few members of the Green School Committee visited Chris from Precious Plastics Dublin today. They collected some amazing prizes Chris had made and got to learn a little more about the recycling process. It was an exciting experience enjoyed by all. Many thanks to Chris for having us. We are looking forward to meeting Chris again and to learning more about plastic recycling and the way to turn it into wonderful new products.
Precious Plastic Dublin is a volunteer collective working on practical solutions to plastic waste and pollution in Dublin. As part of the Precious Plastic global movement, they aim to bring plastic recycling closer to the local community, enabling the public to transform their own waste, while demonstrating the remaining value of plastic waste.
