As part of our long-standing Hamburg Student Exchange with the Immanuel Kant Gymnasium, a group of TY students spent 3 weeks in Hamburg from April 1-19. While living with a host family, they visited some of the many interesting sights in Hamburg city and in Berlin, and also completed two weeks of work experience in various placements e.g. in hotels, supermarkets and pharmacies just to name few, provided by the Rotary Club. This programme offers an excellent opportunity both to obtain work experience and to improve language skills as well as introduce the students into the economy and working life of the other country.
All students had a great time that they will remember for a long time to come. Many thanks to the host families, the teachers at Immanuel-Kant-Gymnasium and the Rotary Club for looking after our students so well. We would also like to thank Ms Niederprüm from St. Kilian’s, who once again organised and coordinated the Hamburg exchange this year.
We are looking forward to the return visit in October and are still looking for work placements in all areas of business. If you can offer a placement, we would appreciate if you could get in touch.
