On March 7-8, 2025, a small delegation consisting of 6 St. Kilian’s and LFI students attended this year’s Model United Nations at Wesley College (WCDMUN) and did well representing the Lycée Français International Samuel Beckett and St. Kilian’s Deutsche Schule Dublin as the country of Iceland. Over two days Nicholas, Filip, Michael, Evelyn, Gabrielle (LFI) and Etienne (LFI) debated on resolutions ranging from ecological and environmental challenges to peacekeeping and conflict resolutions. Our delegation confidently participated following the procedures of negotiation and delivered speeches for and against the topics at hand and voted for the resolutions in the committees and General Assembly. The students enjoyed a great weekend finishing it with a better understanding of world affairs and making friends from different schools in Ireland and abroad. Attending an event such as the WCDMUN is an important milestone within then MUN & EU Club and offers its members an opportunity to express their interest in international relations and allows them to put their debating skills and knowledge of international affairs into practice.
