A massive congratulations to Ian from Primary School and to Soča and Cherry from Secondary School, who successfully competed against students from other German Schools across Europe at the second round of the JuMu Competition in March 2025. Soča and Cherry, chaperoned and coached by Elisabeth Richers, took home a second prize, while Ian under the tutelage of his teachers Prof Wiliam Butt (cello) and Klara Janu (violin) secured 2nd prize in violin and 3rd prize in cello. This is a truly fantastic achievement, and we are all incredibly proud in St. Kilian’s of their remarkable success.
“Jugend Musiziert (JuMu)” is a competition for young musicians organised by the Deutscher Musikrat in Munich, Germany. It is the biggest musical competition that motivates thousands of young non-professional musicians to achieve extraordinary standards in music. Organised over three rounds it allows students to compete in a number of categories from classical to pop and pitch their talent against that of students from various schools in Germany. Besides the competition itself young people are given the opportunity to meet and to interact with other young people and master new challenges.
